25-CENT NOTE: Daniel Parmely 1808 - 1875

This 25-cent note is from Pittsford, Monroe County, N.Y., and dated March 4, 1853. The steel-plate engravings were done by by W.L Ormsby & Co. of New York City. “Payable at C.F. Crossman’s Seed Store in Rochester, N.Y.” was stamped in red on the back.

Daniel and his wife, Almira (Baker), can be found in the 1840 and '50 censuses of Pittsford. By 1860, they had moved to Rochester where he was a watchmaker and a jeweler.
