George was born in Philadelphia but lived most of his life in Warren, Pa., where he was a dry goods merchant as early as 1860 and as late as 1880. In 1900 he was president of a bank in Warren. This is a July 1864 bill from the store he owned with a Mr. Henry which was paid Dec. 7, 1864.
