PARMELEE FARMS: Le Roy, N.Y.

This produce stand was out in front of a farm just outside Le Roy, N.Y., when I visited in 2001. Brenda Salway reports that the farm belongs to her brother who, along with a cousin, run the stand and work the farm.

The land is from the Harry Albert Parmelee [John Howard, Albert A., John Howard, Solomon, Roswell, Nehemiah, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, John, John] estate which was acquired from the marriage of Harry's father John to Angelina Van Baron.

The sign, right, is just down the road from the produce stand.
