Lewis was born in Ohio but moved to Nevada, Vernon County, Mo., to farm. A few years later he became a photographer, taking many portraits. This is the back of one of his photos. By 1880, he had moved back to Summit County, Ohio, where he set up another studio in Barberton. He also worked as a photographer in Philadelphia in 1900, and spent a few years as a photography demonstrator "for a Rochester, N.Y., firm" which I believe would be Kodak. |
