TAVERN SIGN: John Parmelee 1755-1828

This sign hangs in the bar of The Inn at Chester, a Connecticut resort that sits on the Killingworth town line. John [Jeremiah, Lemuel, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, John, John] built a house on the eve of the Revolutionary War on the property that his father had given him before he moved to Vermont. That house has been turned into a suite and incorporated into the inn.
