TAVERN SIGN: John Parmelee 1755-1828

This sign used to hang in the bar of what was The Inn at Chester, a Connecticut resort on the Killingworth town line. John [Jeremiah, Lemuel, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, John, John] built a house on the eve of the Revolutionary War on the property that his father had given him before he moved to Vermont.

That house now is part of the Guest House Retreat & Conference Center.
