SILVER TONGS: Samuel Parmely 1737-1807

 

These silver ice tongs, top, were crafed by Samuel, probably in the 1770s. They're about five inches long and contain much detail, right. In the enlargement below, you can see his mark, "SP," on the right, and the inscription "A&T," which I have no explanation for. Samuel also crafted a baptismal basin.
