SAMUEL PARMLEE FAMILY 1820-1895
Samuel, Giles, Hiel, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, John, John

Samuel and his family lived at Pittsburg Landing, Tenn., and then moved to Arkansas briefly before the Civil War. They then moved to Texas, living in Nacogdoches, Spring Hill and Kaufman.

The 1860 census shows that they had six slaves. Several former slaves were living with them in 1870. And in 1880, the family had two black servants living with them, Jerry and Eveline Parmlee, probably former slaves.

Below are two photos of wife Mary Adelaide (Michie) Parmlee (1825-1896), and at the bottom are daughters Cynthia "Annie Grant" (Parmlee) Bassett (1859-1940), left, and Martha "Mattie" Jane Parmlee (1853-1945).

We also have a photo of daughter Victoria "Todie" Adelaide (Parmlee) Wilson Brooks and her family.
