Irving was born in Rockford, Iowa, the son of William C. and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Buck (Black) Parmelee. He lived most of his life in Leavenworth, Kans., where he was a receiving teller at the Leavenworth National Bank.

That's his wife, Sally (Rose) Parmelee (1877-1950), below in her 1905 wedding dress.

And below right is their daughter, Rose (Parmelee) Foster (1907-1991), on the occasion of her 1928 graduation from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Mo.
