HARRIET GALE PARMELEE 1922-1952
Gale Freeland, Freeland "Fred," Nathaniel Blanchard, John Orcutt, Hezekiah, Simeon, Hezekiah, Joel, John, John

Harriet was one of the 29 people aboard a North Continental Airlines C-46 aircraft who were killed when it crashed near Whittier, Calif., on April 18, 1952. She was a stewardess and lived in Whittier.

The New York-to-Los Angeles flight via Chicago, Kansas City, Amarillo and Phoenix snagged its wheels on a fog-shrouded ridge in the Puente Hills about 3:30 a.m. and caromed a quarter-mile to crash against the side of a valley 300 feet below. Investigators said that if the plane would have been 10 feet higher it would have cleared the hill and made it to Los Angeles International Airport about 25 miles away.
