ASAHEL PARMELEE 1743/44-1784
Lemuel, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, John, John

Asahel and his wife, Rhoda, were buried at Union Cemetery, off Road Meat Hill Road in Killignworth, Conn. The graves of at least 25 other members of the family can be found here.

His headstone reads:

In Memory of
Mr. Asahel Parmele
who died
Feb. 13, 1784
Aged 39 year

Rhoda's tilted marker is below.

This is one cemetery whose age is showing. On my visit in 2007,

I found so many trees had matured that a lot of the old stones had been toppled. The elements are eating away at the oldest markers, making many of them illegible.
